Dave, the fact whether she knew it or not is irrelevant. She shouldn't have been administering medication unsupervised. The nurse in charge of that shift has a lot to answer for.

What I was trying to say was she should never have been asked to administer "a medication she didn't know" without supervision. There were two faults - she was asked to administer a medication without supervision but also she should have known about the medication even if she was assisting a trained nurse.
