Re: LULZ

I presume that if some little **** did graffitti "art" your homes you would think "O how lovely", rather than the little bastards should be locked up then. Perhaps you people who find the vandalism of young ****es hiarious would like to invite same young ****es to your own homes, nad then leave them to enjoy themselves. No, how disapointing that is.

No one was talking about graffiti in houses though. Some of the graffiti in public places is truly awesome.

Peoples perceptions of what is art are different.

Certainly Orton was creating art which would now be extremely extremely valuable.

I rarely find grafitti awesome, but there are rare exceptions, like the cats that sprang up all over various French cities:

and yes, Orton and library books - works of art!

But I do agreee with uber - I wouldn't want some little **** to come drawing on my walls.

I'm not a graffiti fan or in favour of vandalism even though I may have indulged in a little of both in my mis-spent youth. On the subject of art v's graffiti however, I am huge fan of Banksy! (but not computer literate enough to do you an example)The guy is a genius.

Of course there is a difference. All I have been saying is that often blanket statements are not really helpful in situations like this.

Of course there is a difference, and what those thugs did is not amusing and not acceptable under any circumstances.

Stuff like this Jock?

I do have to also admit that in my youth I did some grafitti too, but it was usually political sloganing. Dayshade and myself, having been to some anti-sexist men's group or other, did grace the bus shelters of Plymouth with lesbian symbols and slogans like "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle" to show solidarity with our sistas. We were very young emoticon
