Monovette in theory could cause contamination with EDTA if that tube is used first because the lower part of the needle is in the bottle and so can come into contact with blood that has mixed with EDTA in the tube.
I was always told to take those as last sample

You are right - it is often poor technique that affects the quality of the sample taken and because of this the order of draw should be taken into consideration to minimise risks of taking poor quality samples.

I was only taught to take the most important one first incase you couldnt get the rest for any reason. emoticon
