I found that they 'bigged' the whole thing up.

It's not that bad, honestly. I failed GCSE maths and managed to pass that easily. It's all just sort of how many micrograms in a milligram? how many tablets would you give for this dose? etc.

Go and read a couple of things on drug calculations and you will be fine.

Thanks Kitty, that does make me feel a lot better about it, cause I've been doing lots of practice examples of drug doses and calculations etc..!

Thanks!

If you are really crap at maths, and very worried about your level of numeracy, there should be support available at just about every uni. Where are you going, if you don't mind me asking?

Hey Simpson, I'm going to Surrey.

The problem is I just don't know how bad I am compared to...what I'm supposed to be like!

Don't worry too much about the maths, most nurses are crap at maths and they let you retake the drug calculations test a few times.

LOL thanx Dave - good to know all is hopefully not lost if I do fail!

Either the lecturers will do some form of diagnostic testing, or you could pop along to the learning support people and get tested if you think it's a major problem.

A dig round the Uni website unearthed this, which might be a useful place to start: -

Thank you so much for finding that for me simpson! (haven't had much time to stop and look for things like this, with all the form filling/reading/general crazyness!!)
I've found some great links from that page, and will hopefully have a place to go for support now, if I need it!!
:-D
