Re: Welcome and introductions Thanks Andy and nursing is in dire need of people who are not technologically challenged so get back there. There are some really exciting jobs in IT relating to care.

Re: Welcome and introductions indeed there are, I believe a number of uni's are now offering MSc health informatics. If you want to know about health and IT, Rod's your man.

Re: Welcome and introductions Sorry it's taken so long to find my way here! I came from the open and closed site too.
Have been nursing for nearly 30 years - can't believe that!
Currently working in management but have done midwifery, surgery and dermatology as well as working in woolworths on the sweet counter and as an admin assistant for a medical company. Have sold tupperware too and worked as a registered childminder when my kids were small.
I'm currently considering leaving nursing to set up in the restaurant trade with one of my children.
Serving local ingredients like Ribble Valley Steak etc. Divine. I think the UK is generally very bad at not supporting its own local producers as many other countries do. Too many small British producers have been overtaken by the agroalimentaion giants and the Wal-Marts of this world.
Re: Welcome and introductions Check it out Glitter (REAL burgers made with local meat and no crap, Morecambe Bay prawns, chips fried in dripping, wonderful patés, it's a cholesteroll fest!)
When I next come to Lancashire for nicer reasons I'll meet you there.
