Nearly all jobs that pay more than student nurses but there are a lot less jobs that pay more than an experienced qualified nurse.
I agree but the thought of 3 years hardship andthe fact that jobs are so hard to come by in order to envisage life as an experienced nurse seems to be quite offputting ...we have had a few students through our doors who have later given up...because it wasnt for t hem...the hours and dislike of night duty/drugery as they saw it and having to roll thier sleeves up were quoted to us... yes we also have had those who have stuck at it and even applied to work with us as qualiifed nurses becuse they know they will get the support they need...and they are real treasures of the future

Dave seems to live in a different universe if he thinks that experienced nurses earn more than other jobs, unless he equates experienced as always holding senior positions, basically despite the gender equality laws female oriented jobs still pay less than less skilled occupations which are male orientated.
And here are some facts from this strange other universe that Uber has only dreamed of....
Average Office Administrator salary - £15,828 pa
Average Secretary salary - £17,141
Average Office Manager salary - £20,883 pa
Average Retail Store Manager salary - £21,303 pa
Average Personal Assistant salary - £22,057
Average staff nurse salary - £22,187
Average ward manager salary - £27,338
Now it has been a long time since I studied maths (and maybe addition works differently in Uber's universe), but all the top 5 jobs pay less than a staff nurse job, let alone a starting ward manager salary.

Well, I've done 3 out of the 5 of those jobs, and to be honest, enjoyed all three...until realising I could be doing something a lot more worthwhile and satisfying with my life.
I was quite happy with my salaries at the time (not the best, but I was content with my work, so it was ok).
I've moved into Nursing because I want to help and care for people, providing a needed and extremley satisfying service. It just so happens that it also happens to be extremely well paid.
I for one am not complaining about the salary. Perhaps those who do moan about it should also think back to why they originally became a nurse...??
I know without a doubt no matter what kind of pay deal is agreed on, I am going to struggle financially in the future - who doesn't except for millionaires and celebs?!!
But who cares - I'll get by and be happy in my work and life.
(sorry for any noses I put out of joint there, just expressing my thoughts)
