two reasons why barry wasn't special
in teh eighth on that mini-wild pitch, bowker advanced to second, barry never would have gone
second when bowker was tagged out at third , burriss ended up at second, barry would have stayed at first
see , teh baserunning tool is more than just comparing SB totals

I disagree, I saw Bonds go aggressively 1st to 3rd LAST YEAR and I saw him make plays like you described above his whole career.
You have selective memory. Barry ran the bases quite well.

I put this in the wrong thread...
The older Barry didn't steal a lot of bases & run like a madman...true. The younger PIT & SF Barry did, and he purposely changed his game to be a HR power hitter. He went away from his natural abilities as an athlete and made himself into a different type of player...that's special.
If he hadn't morphed, you'd probably complain about the lack of HRs, walks, & OPS.

when it came to steals willie led teh league four years in a row while barry never finished higher than third , plus at age forty willie stole 23 bases only caught three times, he remained special thoughout his career
barry wouldn't score from first on a grand slam, why??? he'd get picked off first.
