I've been drinking a lot of Magners lately...with a cup of ice like a real Irishman...even though I have no Irish in me.

Magners on a sunny day, cup of ice cold as the snow...I couldn't be happier, and I don't like cider either, this is the only one for me.

Finally tried a Speakeasy brew, the Double Daddy IPA. Other than costing nearly $9 for a FOUR pack, it was pretty good. A little malty for a IPA but I guess that is because of the high alcohol content. I will try their regular PA next time around.
It's good to hear that you're able to put aside our difference of sporting opinion and take a chance on my non-stop pimping of these beers.
Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for the discovery. That belongs to Stokes, as it is his nephews who are prominent members of the brewery. I am merely the bandwagon fan who has fallen in love with the taste and take every opportunity to pimp some of the best beers I have ever tasted.
So in essence, you could change the title of this thread to "I agree with Stokes about something...." and I would not be offended.
That being said, if you like the Double Daddy, I have no doubt that you will like their other beers. While the Double Daddy is most definitely good, it is not the best beer made at Speakeasy in its category. The Prohibition Ale is an amber that is better than any amber I have ever tasted. I like my Ales to be loaded with that "hoppy" flavor (is that the right phrase? Hoppy?) and this is heavy on the hops.
If you ever see the Satchmo Stout on the shelves, do yourself a favor and grab that, pronto.
But enough of my pimping. Everyone, leave your computers now. Drive to your local BevMo and buy this beer.

I used to work with someone who is married to someone who knows people involved in the brewery, perhaps Stoke's nephews. Anyhow, the suggestions have come from all sides for years now and I have just forgotten to seek it out until now....
There is a liquor store owned (or manned) by these three cool brothers (not black guys, siblings, Asian guys in fact) near my house and I put a lot of faith in their beer suggestions. They stock quite a few of the Speakeasy brews and pimped them to me the other day so I promised them that I would make it through their selection. Give me a week or two and I should be there. Hopefully they have the Stout. They are all about $8.50 per pack but some are four packs and others are six packs. It is still cheaper than the bar.

Your best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who tried the Speakeasy Beers at a party the other night.
I guess it was pretty good....
