Prize Update
A few weeks ago, I mailed a letter to Peter Magowan asking for prizes for our game with the hope that they would come through as they did last year. Well, in the mail today, they sent me an autographed ball by a young Giants pitcher.....Brad Hennessey. Along with that came a letter that said essentially "glad to help you out in your efforts but only make one request per year." Needless to say, I'm a bit disappointed.
So, as of now, that's the first place award but I would like to appeal to the rest of you to help out by sending a letter making a request for a donation to:
Community Relations
AT&T Park
24 Willie Mays Plaza
San Francisco, CA 94107
In the meantime, when I can, I'll pick up some grab bag items when I get to a Friday night game and maybe get lucky enough to get a bobblehead or another autographed ball.
Also, I have some other prizes that I will be happy to donate to the cause...I'll inventory them and list them on this thread. If anyone would like to donate to the prize list, please let me know.
Heck, if all you want to do is play for bragging rights, we can do that as well.

I'm all for just playing for bragging rights. I have enough crappola as it is. I'm also willing to join the letter writing campaign if everyone else wants to go with prizes.

I don't care about prizes either.
I gave away my first place prize last year--so it's never been about prizes for me-- but I will say this:
**** you Peter Magowan, you cheap piece of ****.
First you pay "Barely Ziro" 126 million bucks, then after over a season of him consistently sukking ---you insult us by claiming two weeks ago that "it's too early to say whether Zito is washed up"-- and then you rub salt in our wound by sending us a ****ing Brad Hennessey ball, and tell us not to ask for anything else?
**** YOU Magowan. You and your Zito signing, and even worse- your three year extension of your minion Sabean have now ruined this franchise for years to come.
Note to all regarding the p4 game:
I'm getting pretty bored with this game. It feels like work now.
Last year, even though the Giants sucked, it was still a lot more fun to root for Barry's HR chase while watching to see which of us had him as a pick during the games.
And it's growing increasingly difficult to care about a game within a game, that involves such a "****tily" run team. I'm hanging in here for now, but I am also making no promises that I will play all year long.
I know I am not alone in this sentiment as I've heard noises from some of the other old school players here that feel the same way.
Doesn't have anything to do with prizes, either.

My vote is that you keep the ball for doing the score keeping, regardless of how long this game actually stays alive.
You have a ball collection, add that one to it.
It's not worth the time, cost and effort of mailing anyway.
You did enough already, just keep it.
Or use it to bean Magowan or Sabean next time you go to a game.
Your choice.
And I personally don't want anyone to grovel at the feet of the Giants FO any longer.
They made their position pretty clear, and so did I --as to how I feel about them.
Pretty sure I speak for many, if not most of us in regards to how I feel about Magowan and his precious "krappy long relief pitcher signed ball."
Bottom line:
Have a vote if you want, but so far no one has spoken up caring about the prize(s) so there doesn't really seem to be any need to do so
-Gethes doesn't care about the damn ball
-Spitter doesn't care about the damn ball
-Grand doesn't care about the damn ball
-NineBuck doesn't care about the damn ball
If two or more people pipe up here saying they want a shot at winning the Hennessey ball, then that's different of course. But so far, no one cares about it.

I appreciate your position and share your frustration for the team...particularly Zito and management. Rather than serving as spokesperson for the others, how about they come forward and reconfirm what you stated on their behalf so they are counted publicly.
my vote goes for bragging rights....
as far as the ball is concerned, if the vote is to play for bragging rights, I'll donate it to a junior giants program.
