I seriously cannot stop looking at Die Deutsche Liebchen. She is stellar. Ausgezeichnet.

After watching 15 minutes of this ... there are some issues.

1. These marines are all clean. There were no showering facilites in Kuwait. My boy went SIX ****ING MONTHS without a shower.

2. The barracks look like their mamas are picking up after them. They were not even close to this degree of orderliness.

3. Letters were GOLD to these boys and they would not fling them around like playing cards. And the mail was not delivered to them while they layed about with laptops. They went to a truck to receive them at spceified times.

4. Removed laptop reference until I research this more. I'll say this, though: Number of e-mails sent by my kid while in Iraq: ZERO. Number of phone calls: ZERO.

5. I think, if my son were watching this, his boot would be planted ankle deep into his TV screen.

since when has hollywood been 100% accurate. they need to make it reasonable to watch. nobody wants to see your boy without a shower. as for the laptops, no idea what's going on. keep in mind these guys were the first ones there, they were a bit more supplied i expect, than after the war was even a year in, or when your boy was there. beginning of the war, they have stuff. half way in, it's bare bones survival festival.

My son was in one of the first units to cross the border in March of '03. He wasn't recon, or in the 1 MAR DIV, but there weren't too may tire tracks ahead of the ones he rode in on.

i have no frame of reference other than what seems logical. not claiming to be right, just offering up ideas of why some things could be the way they are. i still think the show was pretty good.
