this is exactly why he is a struggling landscaper with debt. he is a retarded ****ing dumbass.

this money was not stolen, it was lost on public property, as such it is his to keep should he find it. report it to the irs as income, pay your taxes and call it a ****ing day. some people are doomed for poverty, this moron deserves it.

I agree except for one thing.

I'm not a lawyer, nor a found property expert, and I could have the following distant memory a little bit wrong, or the Law may have changed, but as I recall from long, long, ago:

California law requires that you publish the find in a newspaper for 30 days.

You don't have to say how much you found, nor exactly where, but you do have to take out an ad in a paper that serves the area where the money/lost property was found. And you do have to fork it over, if the rightful owner can identify it, show proof of ownership and claim it.

(I have a friend who once found twelve grand on a hillside and he anonymously called the police and asked what the requirements were before he could legally keep it, and they told him as much. He placed a tiny ad in a local nickel paper, and no one claimed it, though he did have a couple of BS artists call him and take a stab at guessing the amount, and the location of the find. At the end of what I recall was 30 days, he got to legally keep and spend the dough.
I remember him sweating it out during the last few days that the ad ran. We were just teenagers at the time, so 12 grand was a pretty big score. He wouldn't even tell me the exact amount, because he had already told me where he had found it, (and told me it was over ten grand) and he thought I might try to concoct a believable story and call the police and report it and claim it, haha.

My best guess at the time was that it was weed money (or maybe coke money) that some idiot forgot after burning a fatty to celebrate his sale, and my friend happened to get to it before the dumbass who forgot it made his way back to the location. The area where it was found, was a notorious stoner "sales" and "let's go burn one" area. That would explain why the guy who lost it, never called the police, nor responded to the ad.)

Based on that, (since the Bank or Armored truck company would have likely spotted the ad) the better plan for this current, in-debt do-gooder would have been to just slowly spend the fun money for the next 140 months, and pay the bills with the entirety of the "landscraper" paychecks.

Perhaps do a little bit of money laundering in order to help get back into the black faster, and increase the chances of making the paycheck money build itself here and there.

Honesty is great and all that, and if that were someone's life savings, I'd have a different opinion. But when you find 140k that's obviously insured bank money that some dip****s fumbled, you have to keep it and just chalk it up to good luck.

My version of the ad:

$ ... Yours? Send why to (P.O. Box) by (date).

That's almost exactly what his ad said. It was a tiny ad, and buried in a tiny publication.
 (circulation-wise.)

The law, at the time, did not require any sort of major tooting of horns. It probably still doesn't.

Basically, the idea is that you made a legal attempt to alert the owner, and the burden is on the loser of the property --to find that attempt.

good legal advise.

here is my advise based on all info provided.

put some money in backpack, buy ticket to caymans. open bank account. have wires sent from said bank account over time in amounts under $3,000 each. as such there is no record kept of such transfers 6 months after wire date.

use money (wire or kept cash) to frequesnt las vegas and all it has to offer for someone walking around with $10-20 grand at a time. coke, strippers, club sluts, anything else one can get their hands on.

this is what i would do, others might operate differently.

you would forgo sinking more money into a dead landskraping business-- for wine, women and song?

Preposterous!

Fortunately, el dip**** was wise enough to ignore your wild advice-- and instead take the 2k, and sink it into a lucrative roadside Orange sales business.

Unfortunately, he bought two grand worth of oranges all at once, and in fact actually SPENT 2k, but only RECEIVED 1500 bucks worth of now currently rotting oranges.

His future investment plans also include selling tailgate sized custom Oakland Raider barbecues in the Latrine parking lot.
(where tailgating is no longer allowed)

wine, women, and song?

no, coke, booze, strippers, and sluts...oh you meant the same thing. and not $2k, at least 10 or 20 over 2 visits.

the look on raiderfan's face is just priceless. like him glaring from the stands does anything. lmfao

Re: The random krap and bizarre pics thread

just found this webgem on the Cardinals board.

"Double CHEESE burger" heh.

what will the concessionaires think of next to burn the stupid Cardinals fans?

Extra large "cup" of beer?
(which means you get the same amount of beer as a standard beer -- but it comes in a half filled, larger cup for two bucks extra)
___

"I just attended the Cards-Nats game on Sunday, my first game in the new stadium, and was absolutely disgusted by the price of the food. $6 for a hot dog, $8.50 for a beer, $5.00 for a bottle of water, and the greatest hook I have ever experienced the Double Cheeseburger. A cheeseburger was 5.50, and a double cheeseburger was only 7.75. I thought the double cheeseburger was the better deal so I ordered one. When they handed me my burger, it had one pattie. I informed them that I ordered a DOUBLE Cheeseburger so they yelled back and served up another double cheeseburger. However, it was the same one pattie sandwich with TWO slices of cheese, a double CHEESE burger. I have never been so sick in all my life. Two extra dollars for one slice of cheese!!! This was a crime!!! The Cardinals organization or whoever made these prices is a CROOK!!! Anyway, I'm just curious if I 'm the only one who thinks this overpricing is absolutely ridiculous."

Burned alive for "not washing feet"
Wed Mar 12, 2008 5:55pm EDT
BEIJING (Reuters) -

A Chinese bride burned her new husband to death after he got into bed after a drunken argument without washing his feet, state media reported on Wednesday.

"Wang and his wife, Luo, were married on February 2. The couple, however, frequently fought over trivial things while still on their honeymoon," the official Xinhua news agency quoted a local newspaper as saying.

The couple, from the central province of Hubei, had another fight on the night of March 4, "and in frustration they together drank a bottle of liquor to ease their anger."

"At about 10 p.m., Luo watched her husband get into bed without cleaning or washing his feet. In a fit of anger and intoxication, she set fire to the sheet he was sleeping in," the report said.

"When he awoke, the two began fighting before a very drunk Wang collapsed. As fire engulfed the bedroom. Luo escaped to the living room, leaving her other half to burn," it added.

The woman has been arrested, Xinhua said.
