Potential Deal + Ramifications
The loudest rumors right now (that I hear) center around this... (not exact, just a basic gist of a deal)
Tasch & Durham
4
Weeks
For discussion sake, lets assume it happens like this.
That will obviously cause a few internal roster movements to occur.
1) Replace Tasch in the Pen
2) Purchase a kid to fill out the 40-man
I would think that Palmer should be the purchased prospect. Due to his age, we need to find out if he has anything. He also fills the roster need created by Tasch's departure.
He could replace Coreia in the rotation, and Coreia would replace Tasch in the pen. If Palmer falters, move Coreia back into the rotation and try Palmer out of the pen.
We could instead recall Sadler and keep the 40-man slot open. However, he was sent down to work on his peripherals and confidence, as well as the fact that we already have a pretty good idea what we have in him.

It doesn't seem like this deal would make sense unless the Giants got a half way decent minor leaguer in the deal. Weeks will steal around 15-20 bases but he cant hit at all.

If you told me that the Giants were going to trade Taschner and Durham, I would have figured that they'd get alot less back than Weeks. He's having a bad season, but that's what buying low is all about. If you're expecting to get a surefire elite prospect or current young star for these two, you're deluding yourself. We all know what Durham is, he's gone at the end of this season no matter what happens, and there's no way the team risks arbitration to get a compensation pick (if one is even in the offing). Taschner is having a decent season, but non-elite have a shorter half-life than Nobelium 262 (yes, a nuclear physics joke, HA). Just ask yourself: Where is Scott Eyre?

The Giants organization is probably the last team that should take on a position player that is struggling. This organization has shown no ability to develop players or have patience with younger guys. What makes everyone think that the Giants wouldn't just make more of a mess out of Weeks than he already is? I'm sure the Giants would give Weeks the ultimate Jimmy Jack just like they have done time and time again to younger players.
So I say pass on Weeks unless it is for something cheap, like Durham and Taschner. Personally, I'd rather see the Giants trade for prospects instead of projects.
Just sayin'

Tasch and Durham for Weeks does seem a bit lopsided..... as Weeks is still cheap with tons of potential.....
now this could be the start of something....but it seems the Brewers would need at least another arm.....like Misch or Henny
What the hell happened to Henny anyway?? I assume he got sent down when I wasn't looking?

If you weren't looking 2 1/2 months ago, then yes. He was optioned to Fresno in the beginning of May. And you hadn't noticed until now?!!?
Heres a useful link for "people who aren't looking" :
