ah hell, just dump 'em for marginal-at-best talent, like the Ray trade.
This has been delayed for 3 years already!
Unlike RayRay, these guys all have value. I would HOPE we get actual value back for these guys.

We just need salary relief from Mets for Randy....then Nate gets to play.
You say that like it's a good thing.

I think our next aging vet to be traded:
(In this order and team)
1. Randy Winn (Mets)
2. Rich Aurilia (Cardinals)
3. Bengie Molina (Yankees)
1. Mets are clearly nervous on having Tatis and Chavez roaming left, and now that Moises is done, they're looking for a steady presence in LF.
2. The Cardinals are looking for a utility infielder to play mostly 2B, but to spell Glaus and Pujols at the corners for an occasional day off.
3. Jorge Posada is on the verge of having season-ending shoulder surgery, and the Yanks are not comfortable on having Jose Molina behind the dish. Bengie could be a nice fit here.
The question then becomes, what does any of these teams have that we want in the line of prospects or 1 or 2 yr MLB players.
Good call. I agree that Randy would be a great fit with the Mets although what prospects do the Mets have left? They've traded away just about everyone. I know, it is all about salary relief.
Aurilia to the Cards would also be a good fit. Could the Giants get a decent prospect for Richie from the Cards?
Finally, I'm not sure the Yankees would be that interested in Molina. Rather, I still think the Halos would want Molina, especially if they go and get Texiera to play 1B. Then the Halos could trade Kotchman and Mathis to the Giants for Monlina.
Plus, don't forget about Taschner and Omar. I think Taschner still could be moved for the right package of prospects and would be attractive to teams in the playoff hunt. Also, the Red Sox just might not want to rely on Lowry at SS and could use Omar's glove for the stretch run. I'd take a low level prospect for Omar if it meant Omar getting a chance to play for a championship.
It will be interesting. I just hope Sabean stays true to his word and that the Ray Ray deal was just the first of more to come.
Just sayin'
