3. C BUSTER POSEY (FLORIDA STATE)
The latest: When Posey was drafted by the Orioles in June,<---(?) he made several statements to me alluding to the fact that he might return to school for his senior season. That, of course, was immediately after the College World Series. With much having changed since that point, Posey has gone from having an open mind about returning to school to being quoted in newspaper articles as if he's already with the Giants. Though Posey hasn't signed the dotted line, every indication has him signing with the Giants. Posey's stock will never be higher and he's already proven to be the nation's best college player. Now it's time to take that label to professional baseball

9. 3B CONOR GILLASPIE (WICHITA STATE)
The latest: Gillaspie had a sensational junior campaign for the Shockers, and was drafted by the Giants in the supplemental first round. As with first-round pick Buster Posey, Gillaspie has yet to sign with the Giants. Still, that might not mean much. According to a source we spoke with at Wichita State, it would come as a huge surprise if Gillaspie decides to return to school for his senior season. After an outstanding season at the plate, Gillaspie's stock is at an all-time high and probably can't improve much. As a result, I'd expect to see Gillaspie sign before the August deadline.

That is very good news on Posey. I wasn't very high on him being our selections at the time, but after seeing Molina these last few weeks I can't wait to have a young Athletic Catcher behind the plate and at the plate hitting. I mean with Posey we won't have to worry about an automatic double play if hit on the ground with runner on first.

Re: …
Plus Posey has all 5 fingers on his glove hand, (instead of two)--and can actually catch a high fastball.
I will miss Bengie's triples though. Fun watching him run when the ball gets stuck in the fence, or the outfielder has a stroke running for the ball.

Haha yeah I must admit that it has been a joy watching Bengie and hell I was at the game this year when he hit that walk off homerun so I do have love for the guy, but his slowness and the way he has seemed to regress a bit behind the plate has really made him hard to watch.

Re: …
Yep, Bengie is a likable player, and he does do his best.
It's just frustrating seeing him as the clean-up hitter, hitting into DP's and seemingly alwayspopping up.
And the wild pitches that are actually passed balls.
He does try though. Can't accuse him of being a player who mails it in.

I had a pizza tonight, and your fat-ass mom served it to me, then I *****ed-slapped her on her way out! Great pizza, horrible service!

Re: Latest on Buster and Gillaspie
I would love to see them sign both these guys sooner so they could play a little in the minors this year, but for some reason they are going to wait. Still wonder if we'll see Posey by September '09?
