How quickly you all forget how bad our closers have been since Nen. Then again, ya'll hate all Giants (FO, managers & players)...so these threads will continue...and I'll keep posting my anti-anti-Giants posts.

we all hate the Giants? So I guess to be a Giants fan in your book any kind of criticism about a Giants player is not allowed?
I think any die hard Giants fan has a right to be upset with Brian Wilson after his pathetic choke job against the Brewers saturday

Hmmm...lately on this board we have the following about each person:
hitting coaches - suck
Bochy - suck
Sabes - suck
Renteria - suck
Lewis - suck
until the last month - Rowand - suck
Zito - suck
Sanchez - suck
Wilson - suck
Howry - suck
All offseason - Cain - never live up...he's had his chance
Yeah, I'm imagining things...my bad. I didn't say anyone here hated the Giants the team...they hate the Giants the people. The FO has been hated for years here and VERY few players are ever supported. You go ahead & keep ripping em, I'll keep defending em & you can then rip me for defending em.

We as Giants fans will always have the right to dog the players on our team if they don't live up to the expectations we have of them. So, if someone blows chunks on the field one day...expect them to get smacked. We are a group of fans who are passionate about the team, so expect it.

I do...odd these last posts have been "respect my criticism" yet they don't support my criticism of the criticism. Maybe that isn't so odd, more like common.
In any case...it just seems there is almost no positive talk here unless it's about Timmy or Pablo (the positive talk on Nate will all go to "he sucks" as soon as he hits a slump...i can prove it...see Lewis)...maybe Cain but just for the sake of trading him. Why aren't there threads about how the Giants have the 2nd best record in baseball since that terrible start? How about a little patience with players with very little experience? Wilson had 40+ saves last year and plenty of folks here were still saying he sucked...in his FIRST SEASON. Lewis has shown us that he has real promise. He has some stuff to work out & maybe he won't end up a star...but damn...ya'll give up on these guys FAST. Now everyone is on Pablo's jock...and if history is any indication...everyone will sell him out if he goes 2-25. Giants fans are certainly not fair weather when it comes to the team...but they sure are fast to give up on the players. I'm all for the young guys getting playing time and learning how to play at this level. This season wasn't supposed to be the one to make a run...and we're still kicking ass in the standings. So what if the offense isn't very good right now. We have some bright spots in the line-up and outstanding pitching. Our team is winning and we have more talent on the way. We have tons of payroll freeing up next season so we can keep our guys & get FAs too. Things are going very well for the Giants right now...so how about a TINY bit of attention to that instead of Wilson/Lewis sucks and trade our guys away threads.
Giants ROCK!
P.S. I've noticed Pads fans are the exact opposite as here. They always think their team is going to be in the hunt & refuse to admit they have any bad players. I recall before this season they were saying the NL West had 4 teams who could win it...discounting the Giants.

Lots of love here when the players do well. As far as Padre fans, I must go check their board as I've always felt they throw everyone but AGon under the bus. I've even seen Peavy get brutalized there....

Fresh - you make my point. Maybe we can just cut Wilson...think Benitez wants another $30M? Ok, I know you aren't saying you want that...but to say Wilson sucks (and is paid $400k), to me...those people lose credibility in their opinions...again, to me. Then again, if his WHIP goes down and he makes 5 all star games in a row & wins an MVP...folks here will then say he's ok...maybe.
Nimbus...Pads board on Scout. They used to say how Greene had GG D...they still talk about how they are glad they didn't move Peavy...at the time saying Atlanta wasn't going to get him for nothing (I think nothing was the reported 7 players they were rumored to have been offered). Kouz was going to be an allstar...Headley even better...Antonelli the best player in the minors. If that Goudin guy gets another good start, they'll talk about how they have a #2/#3 guy in him. It's absurd. They are already talking about Correia as a #3 pitcher. To be fair...they did say replacing Hoffman was no problem as Bell was easily ready to do that. Granted Bell has done quite well, but that seems to greatly diminish what Hoffman did. I wonder if Bell was a Giant how badly he would "suck".

You are inaccurately lumping and attributing individual player and management criticisms-- as being universally stated by each and every poster.
And that just isn't true.
Personally speaking, I'd say that list of player criticisms is pretty accurate, other than that I never gave up on Cain. I had some private doubts a couple of times last season when he gave up big innings, but I never dogged him publicly by saying "dump him" or saying that he overall sucked.
In fact, my big "way wrong" so far has been in backing The Pharaoh, but I merely stated that I was not ready to give up on him. I never said he was a sure thing.
Besides, that falls into a category of something you would approve of.

Furthermore, I have been one of the loudest and earliest-on Nate supporters amongst us here.
I was calling for him to get starting playing time before last season even ended.
And I was calling for him to start this season, all off-season long.
And I'd bet good money that you were a Benitez apologist too, so really... who cares about what you feel should be "Mando-tory" pom-pom waving?
For that matter, you probably think the Warriors play pretty damn good defense too.
But anyway, the point is this-
We will continue to cheer loudly and support the players we feel are doing well, and be patient with the kids that are struggling -- for as long as we can.
And we will also criticize poor play when and where we see fit to do so.
If that's all just too heartbreaking for you, then I suggest you don't read the threads that contain player or management criticism.
