Game #74 - Sadowski vs the Cerveceras - Sunday 6/28 - 11:05 AM
I know it is too early to think playoffs, but this is the way I look at it. If we can make it too the playoffs, without sacrificing our future, then our staff figures to be the best any team would have to face. While our hitting is coming around, it is nowhere near playoff caliber yet.
ESPN can keep worshiping teams like the Mets and Yankees, both of whom have no where near the pitching staff the Giants have. As long as the Giants keep playing this energetic ball they are playing now, we can beat almost any team in a series.
Out of all the series' we have played so far we have won 16 of them, lost 7 and split 2 of them. That is not bad and in June our first series loss was this current one against the Brewers.
Have fun facing Cain, Lincecum, RJ, and Zito STL!!!

Last Nights ESPN coverage on the Giants/Brewers game was this:
Fielder's 3 run HR
McGehee's HR
Fielders walk off single
No word about Sandoval hitting 2 HR's.
That's normal. They don't talk up the losing team (unless the losing team is on the east coast).

I'll give last night's BBTN credit, Kurkjian & crew did devote an entire segment to Panda.
They didn't focus so much on his offense or emergence as a rising star, but to his many batting rituals (?) as he approaches the plate and gets settled...who knew?
I'd never seen K&K or heard Miller & Flem reference it.
Pretty entertaining actually, if there's footage anywhere.
The host then dropped the Kung Fu Panda nickname which drew chuckles.
Tonight they previewed Wednesday's game as "Pujols and the Cards vs Pablo Sandoval and The Giants"...so they are staring to warm to Los Gigantes.
ESPN still makes my blood boil though.
