True Merkin, but if we settle with Winn in LF, Rowand in CF, and Nate in RF, and have Torres hanging about (who I do like!), where would Miledge or Dukes fit in????
Both have screaming mad potential....Man...Errrr...Maybe I am so sold on our youth now and not others?
You could cut it a few ways.
If sit Winn vs Lefties and some Righties and let Dukes/ Lastings play LF. I prefer Lastings to Dukes...Better defender, and I believe the bad boy act is just that, an act. Lastings also has options left. I wouldn't mind seeing Torres getting time out there as well.....
Best case Scenario...work both sides of the market..... We can trade Lewis and Winn for prospects (however meager), then trade prospects for help at 1st, 2nd or OF....

But why not putting Bowker into a platoon scenario with Ishi and have him get a few AB's in the OF.
SS is not going anywhere. Sabean paid wayyyyy toooo high for him.
2nd would be a upgrade if we can land someone, but Uggla. Isn't his avg. around .213 or something.
I am all for getting a 1B or 2B but who????
Me thinks if you bring up Bowker he plays, LF and only LF. The Giants' brass would have brought him up already if they were going to do so because he is straight raking in AAA. But they haven't so why would they bring him up later? Until they get rid of Winn or Fred (as he likes to be called, not Freddie) then you won't see Bowker. I say give him a now so we know what we have prior to the trading deadline. But what do I know, I am no GM.

I like Ishi but he isn't consistent enough and would rather see him come in as a late inning replacement.
Ishi's stats for June : .250/.273/ .594 /.867
OPS for May : .776
OPS for Apr : .550
He seems to be steadily improving, I'd prefer to play him for the rest of the year and let him sink or swim on his own.

Ishi is would be fine if he could get on base like he did throughout the minors, but he hasn't been able to do that consistently.

Humor Me This Riddler
I think Sabean should shop Winn for whatever he can get, even if he has to pay nearly all of his remaining contract, to open up a spot for Bowker. Schierholtz should be a fixture in RF for the rest of the season, and Bowker should be given a chance in LF. Teh Gamer is Teh Gamer. He's gonna be there regardless. And Freddie needs to learn how to PH.
