He makes us legit. A Panda Martinez 3/4 makes me wet.
Well then I'm glad you're not the GM. There is no way he's worth both those guys. He'd be worth one of them and another prospect if we were a veteran team on the cusp of a championship.

With the emergence of Ishi, if we trade for VMart it should be for him to play catcher (unless Ishi falls off the map in the next several weeks).
I like Ishi's D and if he can hit 20 homers and hit .260 I will take it.
I totally agree!!!

Agreed and that's why Sabean needs to deal Molina too.
Or if the Giants acquire an outfielder then Sabean needs to deal Winn (who I checked is just on the cusp of being a Type A Free Agent this off season whereas Molina is firmly a Type A).
Any move that the Giants potentialy make probably means somebody needs to also be moved, demoted, or let go, e.g., DFA Aurilia.
Finally, if the Giants fall short on trying to acquire V-Mart then I could see them going after someone like Ryan Doumit. Again, the guy can catch, play 1b and RF and bat fourth in the lineup. He currently is on the DL but could probably be acquired for less than V-Mart and is under team control for the next few years.
The best news is we now have confirmation that indeed the Giants are "looking" to find a bat. Whether or not Sabean can find one without giving up the farm is another thing. I just pray to Bonds, that he doesn't do something stupid, e.g. another AJ/Nathan or Accardo/Hillenbrand deal.
Just sayin'
Right on the money thrill. Please make Molina and Winn go away.

"Hideki Matsui for Merkin Valdez"
Not a legit trade rumor...something proposed by a Yankee fan radio show caller that I got a kick out of

Re: Rumor Central
I think some people underestimate how good Molina handles the pitching staff and Timmy in particular....
yes his bat is getting worse by the day and he is the slowest human on the planet but the relationship that he has with Timmy is invaluable

Rumor Central
Is it anything like the relationship between Michael Jackson and "Jamie."

Over rated. Molina does handle the staff well and calls a good game but the reason the Giants are winning this year is because the pitching staff is walking fewer batters. IMO the walks are still a problem but instead of leading the league in walks, the Giants are 9th in league. If the Giants pitchers can further cut down on the walks then they have a great chance of making the playoffs, with or without Molina.
As for potential trades, Rosenthal made these comments: "Victor Martinez is less likely to be dealt, as the Indians would consider keeping him after 2010, when they're expected to pick up his option.
There's no chance Vernon Wells gets traded. Alex Rios, however, could appeal to some teams as a center fielder, so there's a chance he's moved."
I still think the Giants should try and get V-Mart but not at the cost of giving up the farm. Again, if the pitching staff can work on cutting down the walks and if Sabean could make even marginal improvements at maybe second base and/or left field, then this team should be able to stick around and compete for a playoff spot. The team doesn't need sweeping changes nor make an All-Star acquisition, just find some production out of a couple more positions in the lineup.
I'd still trade Molina if I could acquire a couple of starters, e.g., Doumit and F. Sanchez for Molina. The pitching staff would be fine without Big Money.
Just sayin'
