I am planning my holiday to the US next year (April & May) and was loving it when I saw that the Giants have a 10 game home stand in mid-April.
Two questions:
1. How long before the tentative schedule is no longer "tentative" and becomes official?
2. What are the chances that the final schedule is completely different to the tentative one? I'm only really worried about home games being swapped with road games.
If the opponents are changed or start times are switched around it makes no difference to me.
Any advice you can offer is appreciated.
PS. Just thought of a third question. Do you have to be a season ticket holder to get opening day seats or is it first in, first served?

pretty much when the giants have the schedule out it's pretty much a sure thing.

the chances are slim. the times might change for games, but if other teams have placed times then it's a sure thing that it'll be played.

What the other poster posted is pretty accurate except they are elminated the double play window and so you will have to either go through stubhub or try craig's list for a better deal or even ebay.
