Re: I've decided to make my own soy tarts
LOL I was putting the eyedroppers into the bottles of dye. They were filled to the brim and pushing in the dropper overflowed the blue dye all over my fingers. I didn't let that happen with the red and yellow. I've been burning the soy votives I got from Morika and 1 lasts all day. I love soy, I don't even want to work with wax. lol
I made a large green pine scented one for my friend in a fluted glass vase I had and it came out really well! I'm going to need more containers quick! lol I could use advice on pricing and I just sent you a rather long PM.

Re: I've decided to make my own soy tarts
Bath bombs aren't candles but...
I made my first batch this morning, lavender scented in the prettiest shade of lavender with a hint of sparkle. It's so easy, and I have 3/4 of the ingredients in the house all the time anyway, so why not? I will sell my soy candles, bath bombs and natural soaps. I'm not going to make soap, I don't feel drawn to making it so I will sell other people's creations, but I'm picky. lol I got some tart molds that are the deaf sign for "I love you" and made a batch tonight. (My youngest son is deaf, so I have a soft spot for things like that.) I'm also doing some creative things with tealights and tarts. I ordered a bunch more molds to make different and unusual tarts & candles and I'm having so much fun creating! Doesn't take much to make me happy...
Have a good week.

Re: I've decided to make my own soy tarts
Yes they are. My friend, me, my daughter and her gf tested mine for me and they said they were perfect. I couldn't believe I got a batch right the first time and then the next...and the next...lol
I have Patchouli, Fruit Slices and Lavender made. I put herbs in some. I use only essential oils for scent. I love making them, but I was washing out my fluted metal tart
molds using really hot water and my skin was soft and I sliced off the tip of my right middle finger. The ball is basically cut off. It's healing but it hurts and I can't make bath bombs as I'm out of gloves.
I've kinda gone crazy with 2 scented candles. I offer them in votives, 1 oz tarts, 4 oz candles, 8 oz candles and tealights. lol They're fun for me to make and the whole process of blessing the kitchen and then concocting is very soothing to me. I listen to Celtic music and pagan folk as I create.
I am now making Spell Votives for any who need them. I make them with the appropriate blessing/charge, color, & herbs. I role them in more herbs when they are cured. I then wrap them tightly and seal them with a twistie tie. I also have the 4" Goddess mold, so I've started learning to make those kind of spell candles.
I think making candles is the best hobby I've ever had. It's perfect for me. In better days I bought the coolest sign that hangs proudly in my kitchen.
Doesn't take much to make me happy. =)

Re: I've decided to make my own soy tarts
That IS a great sign! And I can speak from personal experience...The candles are great!!
I wish you much prosperity with those candles. And I wish you peace.
