It is with Zonipa's permission, that I am announcing our first Trade or Swap Day.

I am making the day be Thursday, June 4th so I can take part before heading back to Oklahoma.

As you are fully aware of, business has been slow. I have done this with a couple of you and it has worked out great. Someone has something you would like to purchase but you can't. You must wait until you sell a few items to pay for it. On, trade day, you can pick out anything you want from as many buyers as you like. Then, write to the buyers and ask if they would be willing to trade for that particular item. The buyer would then go to your store or auction listings and see if you had anything they wanted. If you do not have anything the other person wants or if the other person just does not wish to do the trade, they may write you back and tell you simply that they do not wish to trade. No feelings should be hurt by either side. If you indeed have an item or two equal (give or take a buck here) to the price of what the other is wanting, you write them back and say you would be willing to swap so and so for so and so.

I've found that we all charge about the same in shipping charges so we normally just call it even there. However, if someone was buying say a cabinet from you that was going to cost $20.00 in shipping fees, you would let them know that they would owe you a particular amount for shipping since whatever it is they are buying is so heavy.

No one has to participate or do a swap they do not want to do. However, if you do the swap, we are going to trust that you will be shipping the packages out in a timely manner.

I felt this would give us a way of turning over some inventory and getting something back that you wanted for yourself in return.

I would like to hear your comments regarding this. We can always cancel the swap day if we have too many people against it. However, I think we could give it a chance. We may have so much fun that we decide to do this on a monthly or every other month basis.

I haven't had a great response here. Zonipa posted here and I have had a couple personal emails that think this a good idea.

Let me ask, if there is anyone who would not be willing to trade their items, to please post here. That way, we will know not to write or bother you regarding a trade. No one will think any less of you if you choose not to participate, just let us know.

I did send a few things to Zonipa for donations so I guess I should start some crafting again........

Definitely willing to trade. emoticon It has always worked out well for me and hopefully for the people I have traded with. emoticon So...count me in!

Just so I am getting it correct. We browse each others stores, right? Find what we want, and then contact the seller(s) to see if they wish to trade for that item we want of theirs? They then go to our store, look around and find something of equal or so value, correct? Then that's it?

Do the items need to say "willing to swap" on our OOAK items or not? I would hate to have to spend the time going through every item in my store and editing it to include swaps...just so it's clear everything in my store on OOAK will be available for swap, 'kay? emoticon Thanks FC...this is a great idea! I will be doing trade(s) tomorrow. I will try and list stuff today for sure!

Morika, you have it down exactly and in better words than mine.

No, items do not have to say willing to trade. If someone emails you or most likely willl use the message board on the site, that they would like to trade for something you do not wish to trade, just let that person know that you don't wish to trade. Explination is not necessary and hopefully, this endeavor will not hurt anyone's feelings one way o the other.
