Why Now?...
For the first time in a long time, our esteemed congressman has a legitimate challenger. While he's not a significant enough threat for the incumbent to worry seriously about, Sam Rasoul is a Democrat candidate in what looks to be a Democrat year. He'll likely draw 15-20% of the vote just on those presumed merits.
Even if we can draw 5-10% of the vote as a write-in for the FairTax, all from Goodlatte's voter base, it won't be enough to tip the election...this time. But Goodlatte is politically savvy enough to realize that next election cycle could be drastically different if Rasoul runs again, with more name recognition in his corner. 5-10% in THAT race could be the deciding factor. Dollars to doughnuts he'll be a FairTax co-sponsor by then. But only if we can get a good write-in turnout. That depends on you and me.
So spread the word. Please.
And thank you.
Brad
