People think bosses have the easy jobs. Today is one of those unpleasant days when I get to reveal the increase in the cost of health insurance employees must pay next year. In order to keep the percentage increase to a minimum, they seriously upped the deductibles and copays. Ugh!

if people's paychecks could increase at the same rate as health care and fuel prices, we'd all be earning at least a 6 figure income if we started at minimum wage 20 years ago...

Morning all. Funny, I have ZERO complaints about my health care plan OR my co-pay. 25 bucks for an office visit and 40 for a specialist. Personally I think that's pretty dang reasonable. emoticon

Enjoy your day gang!

We just went up to $30/$60, drugs up to $10/$35/$70 after a $100/$300 deductible (single/family), and various other changes. I earn a decent living but require quite a few prescriptions as a diabetic as well as regular visits to the endocrinologist, so I'm going to feel a pinch when office visits alone jumped 240%.

Happy Thursday, all!

You're lucky, bec, trust me. About the only thing I miss about working for a company is having health coverage. Let me tell you, it's a ***** trying to provide it for yourself.

I don't envy you having to break the news to the others, Reese. Good luck with that.

Well we've got yet another gorgeous day here and SN is on tonight, so I'm a happy camper.

Love today's graphic, bec...poor Sammy! emoticon

I'm off to finish catching up and get writing. Have a good one, all!

Ouch. I don't have a deductable, my meds run about 130 bucks for 90 days on 2 and 10 bucks for the other. All in all I don't complain.

Sounds like you've got a great plan...good for you. One good thing I've managed to do for myself is cut down my regular expenses by getting myself off my asthma meds. Let me tell you, that makes a HUGE difference...and I'm almost 10 years medicine free! emoticon

Re: Stop in, say hi and chat!

MORNING GANG..
Hubby spent 23 years in the Navy, so we kept our health insurance from that...Champus Standard.
No Co-pay up front and our prescriptions are $3.00 for a 30 day supply. And they pay 80% of all bills until we reach a catastrophic cap of $3,000.00....then we pay nothing. Not even for prescriptions.
After Hubby's heart scare, we hit that cap quickly last year. And you should have seen the looks I got at Wal*mart when I filled my prescriptions and the total came out to ZERO! emoticon I always made a point of saying to the cashier...."Love that! Took 23 years in the Navy for my Husband to earn it!"...then I smile at the folks behind me in line and walk away...

Anywho..gorgeous day here! What a sunrise we had...Hubby say's he' grillin' burgers for dinner! emoticon
