I have no argument as concerns his being fired over the pin...as I said, their dress code is their dress code and he knew it. I just question why they didn't enforce it immediately.
I have a MAJOR problem with making the assumption that he "has a few screws loose" because he wore a "One Nation Under God" pin and brought a Bible to work.
Again, why does being religious necessarily infer that you are also crazy? I take offense at that assumption big time. I don't make a point of hitting anyone over the head with my religious beliefs but why the hell should anyone who holds religious beliefs necessarily be assumed to be nuts. That's just as wrong as racially profiling someone or having a bias against them because of their sexual preference.

Home Depot was within their rights and I'm guessing like the rest of you said, someone probably complained. The old 'how come he can wear a pin and I can't' routine.
As for reading the bible at lunch, one would hope he could find better reading material but hey, whatever floats your boat.
Born Again's in my area know to stay away from my house. I've um sort of told a few my views on thier bull**** religious crap.

Never intended to lump you in, Reese...I was responding to Hit on that. Sorry if I didn't make it clear.

I didnt mean to offend you, maybe I worded it wrong, Im just sayin.. the guy is saving for college, he knows the rules, and risks his job over a pin, when jobs are scarce, so the logical question is what did he do to provoke someone to complain? Maybe he farts too much, but really, read your bible at home, in the park, at church, but at the Home Depot Lunch room?
--- 2009, it just keeps getting better and better. Just ask David Wright..

I don't know whether he was preaching to anyone else or not, I just don't think it's right to automatically jump to that kind of conclusion just because someone is carrying a Bible.
I do agree about risking his job over a pin...seems pretty dumb to me, but then again the whole pin wearing thing in places like Home Depot always seemed dumb to me.
