Now see, I can't get into modern day horror movies. Too much blood and gore for my taste. I prefer the classics, when they left something up to your imagination. In a way, that can be much more terrifying.

I prefer the classics as well catcher but the first Saw even though was bloody was done really well, it was just and a gore fest in other words. Now the second one I didnt really like as well, and I doubt I will the third one. The first one worked because it was new and fresh, the sequels had to try to hard really.

I watched The Beast With Five Fingers last night on TCM, probably was mid 40s I guess black and white horror flick. Staring J. Carroll Naish, Robert Alda, and Peter Lorre in a terrific role. Its a monster flick wear the hand of a pianist is found and reanimates to kill people, playing the piano when no one is around lol, but it ends up being more then that lol. Great flick really, again Lorre was amazing, and the special effects of the hand playing the piano were really good for the time period.

Oh man, haven't heard of that one but it sounds great! I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I love Peter Lorre...he was underrated among the horror biggies, imo.

Oh yea Lorre had certain roles that he just totally shined in like Mad Love, and this movie too. The roles of the madman he was just perfect.

Peter Lorre is my favorite character actor of all time. He did such incredible work in movies like M, CASBLANCA, MALTESE FALCON, MAD LOVE, THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, and so many more.
