Janet Evanovich books? Does anyone read the Stephanie Plum series that follow numbers -- One for the Money, Two for the Dough, etc.?
They're junk food for the brain -- fast reading, entertaining and some interesting recurring characters. She'll never win a Pulitzer, but they ring true to my NJ roots.

… I just finished reading "Lean, Mean Thirteen" and it was true to form. They're worth it when you want something light and entertaining to read.
