Pawing the ground Raseem snorts, his black eyes bright despite the bitter cold. High above a hawk cries circling, always watching.

Tordyn tugs the reins with his last bit of strength and the steed turns and heads off toward the crest of a distant hill as the rider slumps wearily against his neck.

Patting his faithful companion's neck he urges him forward "A little further old friend, just a little further and we can rest."

Raseem snorts and tosses his head and continues onward, up and over the crest, muscles tensing and sweat forming on his noble brow. He reaches the top and pitches forward, sending horse and rider tumbling into the water below.

"Blast! Are there no Gods!?" Tordyn staggers to his feet, fist clenched. "I will not give up! I shall see you in hell first!"

Raseem rights himself and Tordyn grabs his bridle and smiles faintly. "It will take more than they have to stop us," he nods and the horse whinnies. "If we must ride through the very pit of darkness, they will not stop us, my friend."

Re: Our Round Robin
He swung astride, the cold gripping him like a living thing. In fairer climes he would have ridden the river to conceal his passing. However the animal could not long tolerate this cold. Tordyn, reined the horse round his leg and headed left, hoping to ascend the bank and top the rise before his pursuers saw him in silhouette.
Quickly, the drop in his body temperature began to get the better of him. He heard something, a low noise telling him he no longer traveled alone. Before he could isolate the source, he slid from the saddle, consciousness fading.
Strong, yet feminine arms caught him, lowering him to the ground. The scents of female, myrhh and wood smoke registered in his fragmented mind.
Then he heard a husky woman's voice murmur, "You brave fool."

Torydn gasps, feeling the warmth of furs wrapped tightly around him "Do I dream? Surely it can't be."
"It is not a dream my love, lie still. You and Raseem are not done with this world yet. You still have much to do."

He closes his eyes and exhales, a deep breath drawn from his very soul. Darkness engulfs him and he drifts away.
A delicate touch on his forehead and cheek startles him into consciousness and he is aware of a new warmth enveloping him. He slowly opens his eyes as translucent, pale pink petals fall lightly over face. He struggles to focus and sees Eloeth smiling serenly at him.

Eloeth smiles, kissing him softly "Did you think I would not help you my love?"
"I forbid it. It is too dangerous, you should not have come."
"And if I hadn't? You and that fool animal you love so much would have perished."

"Better that I should die then risk losing you. Without you, my heart, I have no life."
She strokes his head with a delicate finger and smiles at him. "And my heart is bound to you...where you go, I must follow. Now sleep, my love, you are still weak. Let me help you."
He hesitates, then closes his eyes again. She leans in close and blows a soft, warm breath against his face, loosing her healing powers around and inside him to him to give him strength.

Re: Our Round Robin
Smiling her hand runs over the smooth steal of her sword, cold to the touch. The ones she hunted would under estimate her, all men did. Only when it was too late did they realize she could kill with the cunning of a great warrior and will the skill most men only dreamed about.

Re: Our Round Robin
She rode along the ridge, scanning the horizon for a sign of the enemy. Suddenly, a cloud of dust appeared in the distance, signaling the arrival of a sizable group of riders. The bird moved it's head from side to side, feathers ruffled, as if sensing the danger that was approaching. She gently stroked him and set her shoulders, standing her ground to meet them face to face.

Smiling she curls her hand around the handle of her sword. If it was a fight they wanted she would be happy to oblige them. "Calm SkyEye, you can have what's left of them." She smiles "I promise."

The bird ruffled it's feathers and tilted its head and she tightened her grip on her sword as the riders approached. They slowed as they approached and one rider broke away from the others. He came toward her, his armor gleaming in the midday sun.
