No Title Yet
Autumn, my favorite time of year in the Rockies. The Aspens have peaked or close to it. The vibrance of bright yellow in their leaves contrasting the creaminess of their white branches against the gray rocks of the Rockies looks as if someone took bright yellow glitter and airbrushed the landscape.
The days are cool and the nights are crisp, with an anticipation of the first snow just around the corner.
I made the decision before Winter left it's wrath throughout the Rockies, my team and I would do one last paranormal investigation. This had to be the one that would bring us the fame that we so desired. We had to bring back our reputation as a ghost hunting group or we would become the laughing stock of our town. Competition was getting hard with the new Parasychology Department opening in the Golden College. We knew with the more advanced technology that this department would push our little group completely out.
We made the decision as a group to we investigate a local legend in a very old graveyard on the outskirts of our little town of Golden. Growing up we had heard of this legend. Doing this investigation would bring us the fame that we wanted and hoped for. This graveyard was called "Virgin Ground" a term used by paranormal investigators, since no investigation team would touch it. The legend had even spooked well known groups.
The cemetery had not been used since the late 1800's. The town decided to use land for a modern cemetery located within the town's limits. The little graveyard was nestled among the Aspens on the side of a hill. Until the Aspen leaves fully dropped the area was concealed if not for the rusty iron fencing that went around the 20 grave sites.
This meant a small group to investigate. No more than four people.
Local legend was the land inside the fencing was cursed. Anyone that entered through the gate would not come back out sane. Insanity would take over the human brain by voices of the dead. The insanity would push you to the point of killing yourself to remove the horrible words that filled your head. A few feet away from the graveyard was emptiness. No trees, grass just dirt. Strange how nothing grows there. Many years ago, where the emptiness is; stood a hospital for the criminally insane. These people were subjected to horrible experimentations to push the insanity out of their minds. Now the souls of these unfortunate walk the grounds inside the fence affecting all that walk past that gate.
We decided to prove this legend was exactly what it was "A Legend". Were we stupid, brave or was the thought of fame so high that we were willing to take a risk? Was I that damn adament on gaining fame to put my team in possible harms way? I had a good team no denying that and even if I was putting them in harms way they would not let me down. They want this just as bad.
