New way to get AFL games
Eg last week's st K vs Melb game is:
mms://wm9.streaming.telstra.com/wh_ivideo/AFL/ONDEMAND/2009/ON/iVideo/Premiership/RD10/NV_RD10_StkildavMelbourne.wmv
This should work right from your browser and will then open a mediaplayer like windowsmedia player.
IF using mediaplayer, you can adjust the bandwidth for best picture depending on your connection speed.
Go to menu: tools>options>performance and choose connection speed.
I have a 2.5mbit connection, but I found I can only go up to 760mb/sec. If I go to 1.5mbit it has huge delays. but quality is quite OK at 760.
So you have to change the above line to look at different games, using the same format. Eg next week's Brisbane vs Carlton game should be:
mms://wm9.streaming.telstra.com/wh_ivideo/AFL/ONDEMAND/2009/ON/iVideo/Premiership/RD11/NV_RD11_BrisbanevCarlton.wmv
Note, 10 is changed to 11 in 2 places (ie round 11).
Hopefully you can get to watch CArlton get thrashed in decent quality. there seems to be a delay, maybe it is 24 hours like for afl.com.au games. Also Im not sure if every game is available, but most are.
IF you have trouble getting this to work, reply here or PM me.

Re: New way to get AFL games
Nother thing I found - if you get the latest version of Realplayer (free) you can record the games, then when playing em back there are no delays, buffering etc so you can jump around at will, slomo replays etc which is good - just have to wait another cupla hours for it to record.

Re: New way to get AFL games
Just trying to get the live streaming games offered by afl.com.au as Brian told me.
But I'm just getting these sequence of still pics, no actual vid (but audio is fine) - not sure if it's a bandwidth problem (I'm runnign 2.5 Mbit/sec) or maybe a computer prob - I just have a 1gHz pentium with 750M of ram - or maybe a configuration problem with Wmedia maybe running too high res? Any ideas? Brian tells me he's been getting it fine.
Guess any enlightenment will be too late for the Woods-Bris game in 2.5 hours.

Re: New way to get AFL games
Here's a simpler way to do it:
http://spekyselector.webs.com/
Might work for some systems that can't do it the other way.

ESPN 360.
The games are great to watch, great quality. If you have comcast internet, I think there is not problem. If you don't I think you need a password of somebody that does.
I have watched 2 or 3 games. Full screen mode is great.

good one! Just watched a bit and great quality (but only one replay available, port/Carlton). Looks like they have 4 live games coming up this w/e also - I hope I don't need that password thing...

Re: New way to get AFL games
Missed the 5am live coverage on espn360, but got the replay at about 9am - no 24 odd hour wait like the other service and hardly any buffering delays - excellent! I think now we have a love triangle going.
Mroe importantly, Collingwood (v Sydney) game is on live, Sat night/sunday morning at 12:10am! hard to believe.
