Straight from usfootynews.com!
Hey guys, I was just scrolling through usfootynews and came accross a re-cap of Saturdays great Tourney in Balt. Here's what they had to say about us:
"The biggest surprise package of the the tournament were the Jon Loring led Philadelphia Hawks. The Hawks thrashed both the No. 9 Boston Demons and the North Carolina Tigers a team that had beaten the Hawks at home back in July. The Hawks big man, Alex Lynden, was fantastic all day. His pace and skills were outstanding. According to Head Coach Loring, "He is as good a rover when the ball is on the ground and many aren't willing to go against such a big guy."
The Demons were missing some of their stars and were obviously hurting after a very good game against the Eagles earlier in the day. It should be interesting to see the re-match next week in Boston.
The North Carolina Tigers were the most disappointed with their tournament after being thrashed by both New York and Philadelphia. The one bright spot was the play by Kim Hemenway, who is not only one of the best female players in the US but one of the better players of any gender."

Congrats to everyone, I was as proud as ever to share the field with all of you and be a part of these great wins. Now lets take it to Boston and show 'em that we aren't messing around!
Carn the Hawks!

Re: Straight from usfootynews.com!
Bob,
Nice find.
Saturday was a great day and proof that we are heading in the right direction as a club. Our 2 previous losses were trending in the right direction, but this confirms it. I can think of numerous occasions were we contested, smoothered, suppored each other through talking, running in numbers or throwing a sheppard. Was some of the best football I have seen a Philly team play in a while from end to end.
Jon, Greg and Dan did a great job with the line-up, strategy and match organization while we did a nice job making it come together on the field.
Amazingly we were missing key guys as well. Let's get a run in during the week, get to training and give Boston a run up there.
Nationals is going to be a great weekend and I look forward to bringing a strong side and taking the field with some pride.
Cheers,
Kav
PS - Tony's girlfriend got a nod in the article as well. Amazingly her name is KIM!

Re: Straight from usfootynews.com!
Saturday was probably the most fun I've had in my two seasons with the Hawks. It was great to be a part of, and it was nice to make doofuses of ourselves and belt out that corny yet wonderful club song of ours.
The one thing I noticed was that we controlled the flow of the play from beginning to end both games. We didn't allow them to get too many clean passages, and when they were able to get a couple of kicks together, we shut them down and worked well in transition.
Just a couple of numbers to throw at you guys...
The 65 point win over Boston was the second highest in club history and our biggest win in a 40 minute game, and the 7 points allowed vs. North Carolina was the fifth fewest points given up in a match.
Lastly, I wanted to recognize the great job by our new guys this weekend. Our first year players are laying a great foundation for our future, and that was shown in both the regular games and in the reserves match. Jay, Dustin, Paul H., and Chris C. represented the club well and put forth a great effort all day.
Let's keep it going, guys. We're not done yet.
