Re: Nationals Preview on USFootyNews.com
Just out of curiosity, how does a 5-2 team get placed within Div III? I take it this is the team to beat in our pool?

Haha, I'm the traitor yet the writer **ahem**barrish** of the article says they're the favorites? Pfft.
If records don't matter, how are the teams picked (serious Q)?

Re: Nationals Preview on USFootyNews.com
I'd like to think I was kind of ambiguous in my opinion of who was the favorites. That said, we have to take it one game at a time.
Todd, there are a number of factors involved. Record, strength of schedule, previous years' nationals records, all come into play.
That said, you should hear the ruckus being thrown on the USFooty forums about the methods behind the seedings. Say what you want about who ended up where, I do agree with the fact that it needs to be more transparent instead of "it was hard but here it is".

Re: Nationals Preview on USFootyNews.com
Divisions are first chosen by the team. Only the team knows what kind of team they are bringing to nationals. Some teams don't travel well, so they might opt for a lower division because they know they will not have numbers. Then USfooty has the final authority of what division.
After divisions are settled then there are seedings. This I think has to be an impossible job. There are so many factors that can be at play. So the main objective I think is to have the correct team in the correct division. Then who cares about the seeding. If you are in the tougher pool, that means if you win the pool the championship game should be easy.
