Stars medical update
Hello!
Thought I'd update you on how things went today. I had my surgery (D & C procedure, to remove lining from womb) this afternoon and everything went smoothly and I'm feeling fine now. The only disappointment was the nurse's comment that the doctor wants me to make an appointment for four weeks from now.
FOUR WEEKS?!
I'm going to phone tomorrow and ask if it really takes that long to get the results. This procedure was intended to rule out cancer. I didn't think it would take them four weeks to look at the material they removed and figure that out! I'm hoping that "four weeks" was just a number he pulled out of his butt because he was so busy. He did at lest seven surgeries today.
There was one other thing that bothers me too. My husband asked me, this evening, what exactly the D & C was FOR. I've already discussed this with him several times, mentioning that my uterine lining is unusually thick and that can be a sign of uterine cancer, and they want to rule that out. He obviously wasn't listening to me, or didn't take me seriously, so this important information didn't stay in his brain. I thought he had seemed rather unconcerned by the whole situation, but I guess I figured that he was just thinking positive, like I was. I didn't realize he was totally clued out!
Naturally I'm feeling a bit insulted and hurt.
So that's where things stand now. I'll let you know the results when I get them.
I'm also trying to get in touch with someone who phoned me to set up a job interview -- while I was helping my husband move his repair business last Friday! Our house guest didn't remember to give me the message till the middle of the holiday weekend, so four days later I'm calling the woman and just getting her voice mail. I left a detailed message and I will try again tomorrow, but if I've missed a health-care job opportunity because I was helping a spouse who couldn't manage to remember I might have cancer -- (Need a more violet smilie for that..)

Stars, I'm happy that your surgery went well and you are feeling okay from it. I hope your test results will come back quickly and that you'll have good news so you can get on with your life.
quietmousie is right, your husband is no different than any other man that I've ever met. They usually have to have things explained to them several times before it actually sinks in that it's something important. Don't get me started on "men".......
Best of luck to you on your job hunt. My sister is trying to find a job in Florida in the health care industry and is not having much luck. She is trying so hard but there is just nothing for her. I hope you have better luck than her.

I always question why it has to take so long to get test results back. We have the same problem here in the states. The waiting is so stressful. I hope your answers come today!
