Do you have the symptoms of Gluten Intolerance?
Symptoms of Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance
The symptoms of celiac disease (CD) vary so widely among patients that there is no such thing as a "typical celiac." The amount of intestinal damage that has occurred and the length of time nutrient absorption has been abnormal seem to be the factors that determine the type and severity of symptoms experienced. It is interesting to note that some people with CD report no symptoms at all.
The list of common symptoms follow, but this list is not complete. As any celiac can probably add to it!
According to The Celiac Sprue Association recent findings show that only about 10% of those with celiac show the common classical symptoms! That's why it's one of the most misdiagnosed diseases in the U.S.
Nevertheless, here is the list of the most common symptoms (though usually they are not all present at the same time) feel free to add you own symptoms in a reply!
Abdominal cramps and pain
Distended abdomen
Appetite Increased to the point of craving
Back pain
Constipation AND/OR Diarrhea
Dehydration
Decreased ability to clot blood
Edema (fluid retention)
Energy loss/Fatique
Weight loss/and sometimes weight gain
Geographic tongue
Dry Skin
Night blindness
Mouth sores & cracks in corners
Excessive Gas & bloating
