Reasons I Don't Go to Sporting Events Anymore

----------------------------------------
Every time I went, they asked me for money.

The people sitting near me didn’t seem very friendly.

The seats were too hard and not comfortable.

The coach never came to greet me.

The referee made a decision that I disagreed with.

I was sitting with some hypocrites who only came to see what others were wearing.

Some games went into overtime, and I was late getting home.

They played some songs that I had never heard before.

The games are scheduled when I want to do other things.

My parents took me to too many games when I was growing up.

Since I read a book on sports, I feel that I know more than the coaches anyway.

And I don’t want to take my children, because I want them to choose for themselves what sport they like best.

What would happen if we approached church responsibilities with the same enthusiasm we give to our hobbies, sports, and other extracurricular activities?

Taken from "Day by Day with Charles Swindoll"
----------------------------------------

Interesting, isn't it? These excuses are ridiculous, and funny when used for sporting events. Yet many people seriously use these same excuses for not going to church.

why listen to some clown try to explain why the freaking bible is not a bunch of fairy tales after you have hit puberty? a waste of time. a social gathering, i guess. not that there is anything wrong with that, unless it makes you think that everybody that doesn't believe a 2000 year old book full of obvious bull**** is the literal word of god is going to hell. then you become a religious kook. if you are as comfortable believing all that biblical bull**** as you try to pretend, milosevic, why not just relax and post about something else? you have a onetrack mind and it is set on mind numbingly dumb religious ****.

Good analogy Mel.... ..... and just like a sporting event.... you mindlessly root for the home team that you grew up rooting for, without the slightest grain of logic as to why you root for this particular team.
