Questions 1. What qualifies a thread for the "A" or "Gold" archive?
2. Is there any way when you click on one of your post links from your "home" page to get it to go to the post rather than just the thread? Some threads are tens of pages long and it can be hard to re-orient. Any other good tips on searching?
… 1. There's an "Archive Forum Update" thread somewhere in the first 10 pages of Main Chat that explains it, but I'll explain again.
Threads are archived when they fall all the way back to the 99th or 100th page of Main Chat. By default, they go to the Main Archive.
To qualify for the Gold Archive, the thread must have 20 or more posts, or 90 or more page views.
To qualify for the A List Archive, the thread must have 50 or more posts.
2. Not sure how to do what you're asking, but both the Google searches at the top and bottom of each page, or the "Search" link at the top right, are good ways to search using keywords. It doesn't work as well searching for individuals.
That's interesting you should mention that...I didn't realize clicking on the Last Post link on the home page did anything. If I can't figure it out, I'll ask the webmaster.
