Should the US Intervene in the Georgia vs. Russia Crisis?


As you may know, the crisis between Georgia and Russia is worsening. The US is calling for an immediate ceasefire, and declaring support for Georgia's territorial rights.

If the conflict escalates, should the US intervene, in terms of sending military forces to the region?

If Rhode Island declared its independence, and the Feds sent troops, and Russia sent some of theirs to support Rhode Island, I think the world would look and go, "uhhhhh....... what are you doing? By what authority do you jump into this? Because RI asked? Big whoop."


Why do we know better than Russia what to do over there with Russians?
