Re: Your Birth I was born in Peterborough, NH. My parents were not yet American citizens, but they were legal residents. I weighed just over five pounds, but I was not born prematurely. My mom was 43 and her doctor was furious with her for having gotten pregnant. I had a 50/50 chance of not making it to full term.

Re: Your Birth I was born in Brooklyn, NY in Maimonedes Hospital, one week late. I weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces. My mom was 42 and my dad was 45. My parents married late in life, and my mom had issues conceiving. She prayed very earnestly that I would be born healthy.
When she was pregnant, a nun came up to her, and said she was going to have a girl, and that she was to name her "ZOH", which means eternal life in Greek. When we went to Israel, I learned that "ZOH" also means the thing that makes God God. ZOH is my middle name.
They said that the doctors and nurses called me "the queen of the nursery" because I was a real pretty baby. Dad almost named me "Queenie" as a result...thank God he didn't.

Re: Your Birth Born in rural SC . We were very poor but did not know it . We grubbed a living out of 36 acres of poor soil . Respected authority and folks with more than we had .
Re: Your Birth I was born in Amesbury Mass. I was the fourth son though there was one other baby boy born stillborn. Guess they couldn't make any girls. I think I was about 6lbs 5 ounces. I think all of us were unplanned. We moved to the house I lived in for the next 23 years when I was 6 onths old. I took a ride down the cellar stairs in my walker hitting the dirt floor. They cut all my clothes off but I was fine. I have faint memories of a vacation we to to Niagra Falls when I was about 2. I remember the shiny stainless steel bathroom and playfully bumping my head on the bed's headboard. My Dad dropped out of school in the 8th grade to help support his family in the hard years but orked his way up to experimental development in a company that made the window fuzzy rubber parts for cars. My Mom was very smart but mostly raised us and when we were big enough took waitressing jobs, some at some very nice places. When younger she waitressed at a music club at Salisbury Beach called The Frolics. She got autographs from people like Liberace, Patty Page, Chubby Checker and others. She liked Liberace and got to try on his diamond rings and he drew an elaborate picture of a piano with the candelabra on the photo he autographed. She knew he was gay but liked him. On the other hand she met and didn't like Johnny Mathis because he was creepy and would send his body guards out to the beach to find him boys to be with.
