Your Scars

Check yourself over for that place on your shin where you slid into home plate, the small reminder of having the chicken pox when you were 10. And then there are those emotional scars...

Ooh! I have a cool scar!

It's a dent right between my eyes. No, really!

When I was five, I was running around outside in my Sunday School shoes that had a 1" heel. I tripped and fell, and a rock embedded in my forehead.

I never bled from it, but I still have the dent. It really shows up when I frown.

cool, Lisa emoticon

I got the chicken pox when I was 17. I never had a blemish before the chicken pox, so it was a real shock to me to see my face spotted like a leopard.

After it was over, I had one scar right by my right eye, and a "hole" on the right side of my nose. I always wanted a nose ring, and I figured I'd to it there, since it already looked like a nose piercing. So when I was 24, I got my nose pierced.

I loved it, I bought a little diamond and I thought it was so cute. My co-workers looked at me like emoticon you're never getting promoted. I finally took it out when I had to look for a new job. I haven't put it back in. I guess my fascination with piercings was over.

I have a big one running right down the middle of my head from an operation when I was a baby, and a C-section scar.

Oh yeah!

And I have a scar around my left nipple from when I had a breast lump removed when I was 18.

And a c-section scar from May 2005 that you can't hardly see (I have a belly wrinkle that looks more like a scar than the c-section scar does).

And a 1" cut (not old enough to be a scar) from having my tubes tied 12/7/07.

Re: Your Scars

I have a chicken pox scar on my left eyebrow.

I have a nasty scar on my side from a birthmark that was removed.

I have a funny story about that removed birthmark.
While in my plastic surgeon's waiting room I saw these photo albums. They were pictures from my doc's missionary visits to third world countries. He would go on short termed trips and do plastic surgeries for the underpriviledged. He did a lot of cleft pallets, burn scars and the like. He had these before and after pictures. The pictures of the people smiling afterward were so touching that I cried and cried while waiting for my doc. When I finally went back I told him how wonderful I thought it was that he did those trips. He told me that he was considering giving up doing boob jobs and go somewhere permanently.

Anyway, when I tell this story I start with "while in my plastic surgeon's waiting room"............and I catch almost everyone's eyes shift down to my boobs! It is hysterical@

Good thing we aren't posting pictures of these right?

I have a small chicken pox dent on my forehead. I still have the graphite tip to a pencil in my right arm from running back from recess with a pencil in my pocket when I was in middle school. I have a scar on my right ankle rom jumping a fence around a church heading to my girlfriends house when I was 18. The fence was solid steel square shafts with spiked tips. I was stuck for a minute with one foot impaled and had to push down harder to spring it off. Now I have burn scars from my wood stove and my bike muffler.

Are all these going to be used to identify us? Place of birth, distinguishing scars or birthmarks, etc.?

Re: Your Scars

Oh brother. I have so many. One when I was a wee kid and hitched a ride on the ice truck, jumped off and went skidding doen the road. But a huhe gash in my left elbow area. Another on my left leg also happened when I was about 5. Walking thru neighbors yard that had weeds growing up to my hips. There was a angle from a bed frame in the weeds and it gave me a big hole in left leg also. Mom fainted when she saw it, but not before she slapped me.
Right leg has scar right under knee where I got shot. That smarted. Over right eye when small too, Got hit with rock. Mom said ahe could see my brains. Both wrists. Window accident. Left foot. Sister did that. Many burn marks from welding.
