Sidestory 5: History of Alexia

Alexia, The Kind, was clad in the finest glass armor in all of Empyrea, also worn by the 4 other Judgements, wielded the Starlight, a bow enchanted to infuse any arrow it fires with a light pure enough to break through any kind of darkness and barrier

Alexia's story begins in 27BH, she was just 28 years old living in Gemini, one of the smallest villages on Empyrea. She lived with her mother,Lunessa. Alexia's father was a traveling priest, who went from village to village to send the good word of the Gods to those in need. One fateful day, a group of nomads came into the village and began to pillage the residents, stealing from shops and homes alike. Alexia saw what was going on and confronted them. The men laughed at her and took her hostage. They beat her and tortured her for six days, and all the while she always kept a smile on her face and pleaded with them to stop hurting her village. On the sixth day, the man in charge of the group came to her and saw her spirit would not be broken. He understood what she was feeling, because he too was forced to watch his own village be destroyed by barbarians when he was just a boy. He set Alexia free and ordered his men to return that which they had stolen and to leave this place. Alexia's mother was badly hurt by one of the men, who had tried to force her to commit to him and she refused. Alexia stayed with her mother until the day she died, which was a few months later. Alexia, heartbroken, packed up her belongings, went to the church to pray for her mother's safe passage into the worlds hereafter, and left, without a word. She went searching for her father, Henry. In her search for her father, she visited all of the villages along the way and did as her father had done in the past, spoke the good word of the Gods, and was soon given the title by many of the people she had met, Alexia the Kind, for her passion and love for all things in this world. One day, in 23 BH, she came across a village in peril. The village was called Ophert, and there was a crisis in which the town's priest had fallen deafly ill. She followed the people's directions and came to face the tent in which the priest was being treated. Inside, laying on a bed of feathers, was a man who looked to be in his fourties, with a beard of grey down to his bellybutton, and a pack next to him. He was reading the scriptures and praying for the people. He looked up at Alexia in the tent's opening and stared in awe. With a husky, yet kind, voice he asked, "Are you Alexia?" Alexia, with tears in her eyes, knew who this man was, this was her father, whom she had not seen since she was very young. She rushed to his side and wrapped her arms around him, tears flowing ever greater now. Henry had a wide smile on his face, for he too knew this was his daughter. They stayed like this for several minutes, all the while Alexia kept telling him how she loved and missed him. He was just silent, listening to his daughter's sweet voice for the first time in many years. Then he moved her slightly away and said to her,

"Alexia, this world is built upon the fragment of love that the Gods themselves had for humanity, and the people need a close leader to guide them along the way. Many of them know the path, but they need a comrade, and others have lost their way, and need a friend. I left you and your mother because I was chosen to be a leader and a friend to all, but now my time is nigh. I have been stricken by an unknown sickness, and I do not know how much time I have left. I know your mother is already awaiting me, so I am at peace with the end, but you will not be left alone. This life promises to be good for you, my daughter, and I have a friend in a large village called Haven not very far from here. His name is Sevaria, and he is wise. Go to him, and he will be your guide, as for me, I am ready for my passing. But do not grieve for me, for my life is just a small part of the past that has made many people come to peace. I love you, Alexia, now go..."

Alexia hugged her father again, and held him even tighter, not wanting to let him go again, but she knew it was time to go on, to further her fathers travels across the land of Empyrea, to be the light the breaks the darkness. She was walking out of the tent, and looked behind her. Her father layed there, looking up at her, smiling, with a gleam in his eye that showed pure happiness, he was at peace. She waved goodbye one more time, and he did as well, and she walked out, and left the village for paths she had never trodden before. After a two day walk in the direction Henry told her to follow, she came across a large village. She knew immediately that this was the Haven her father had spoken of, so she entered. She was greeted by a group of natives and she asked them about Sevaria. She was then lead to a large central building, and was instructed to go inside. There were four men and a woman seated around a great table in the center. One of the men stood up and looked at her, and introduced himself as Henley, and asked the meaning of her intrusion. She told him she was sent here by her father, Henry, to seek out Sevaria, who was an old friend of his. He told me Sevaria would guide me through the remaining trials. An older man stood up quickly and walked towards her, studying.

"I am Sevaria, young lass, what has happened to your father?"

She told him about her father being ill, and that she was then instructed to come and seek you out. Sevaria stood silent for many moments, just pondering, and finally beckoned her to a room in the back of the main hall. She followed and stopped a few steps inside the room. Sevaria knelt down in front of a chest and opened it, revealing a beautifully crafted bow with five arrows, which he presented to her, though he held back one of the arrows. She wondered why he kept one, and he could see this. He asked her to hold the bow in her hands and place the arrow within, and fire it at the chest. She placed the arrow upon the string and pulled back. She was taught how to wield a bow when she was young, but sor reasons she had never understood. The arrow glowed brightly with a brilliant glow and she let go, hitting the chest. The chest dissentigarted in a bright flash, and Alexia stood there with awe. Sevaria smiled and said,

"It is so, you will henceforth be the 6th Judgement of this great village of Haven, Alexia the Kind. This bow is infused with pure light granted by the Gods, and can only be used in times of peril in this land, it is a gift from your father, who knew you would someday make your way to this place, use it wisely and always listen to your heart."

Alexia bowed and walked out of the small room and seated herself in the sixth and final seat at the great table, and was then greeted by the remaining Judgements. Sevaria explained the reasons for her appearance and what she has gone through over these many years, which Alexia could only guess that he knew of these things through her father, though she did not bother to ask. Thus Alexia is now the 6th Judgement and rules over Havn with kindness.

This is the History of Alexia, the Kind, and the reasons for the usage of the second arrow will be revealed in due time.
