Re: Thoughts on Batman
Well, I'm not so much gonna "vent" as I'm gonna fangirl over it.
What did you think of the movie in general?

…
Cool, I am not a venter of Batman either as he's my favorite superhero. But as for the movie...
I think overall it was very well done. Things moved so fast that me seeing it just this once made me miss some things I'm sure.
You already know one of my favorite parts was when he was dressed as the nurse. My Goodness you couldn't even tell it was Heath. I thought that if I saw Heath look like Heath I would have cried but the makeup was fantastic. He played the Joker to a "T."
As for Batman, the biggest issue with him is that voice when he's in costume. He sounds.....laughable. I mean when I heard him say, "Where's the clown?" I laughed. And I know he was serious but I was like....bahahahaha.
Rachel was far better. Katie Holmes is a dunce. The end.
Cm. Gordon is one cool cat. I like him far better than the chubby guy in the other movies.
Harvey Dent....man that guy got a bum rap. You think he'll be back for another movie? It would be a shame if that were all there was to Harvey. One episode of madness and that's it.
Alfred is awesome. Michael Caine could play a bowl of poop and make it suave and wonderful.
My award for best performance of course has to go to the Joker. He WAS this movie. Fantastic, fantatic, funny, psychotic, the kind of guy who'd leave kids with nightmares. Watch this movie, all of you, for the Joker.

Re: Thoughts on Batman
My thoughts, whilst commenting on your thoughts (WANRING: SPOILERS!!! You hath been warned...):
Yeah - it's definitely very fast paced. I did pick up on a couple more things after I saw it for the second time.
The Joker in the nurse's outfit was hilarious. When he turned around with the Glock and shot the cop, I was dying. The icing on the cake was the "Vote for Harvey Dent" sticker on his uniform. That was genious. And then afterwards when he's blowing up the hospital, the way he's walking down the street and hopping in time with the explosions! And then when the last one didn't go off, and he fiddled with the detonator until it DID go off, and then he ran off camera. It was all brilliant!
Christian Bale as Batman: I think that he plays the character of Batman very well, apart from the voice. I understand why they do it, so people don't recognize him (though I think that I'd recognize him just from his teeth and lips - Bale has some sharp teeth!), but it was a little ridiculous. I don't think that he plays a very good Bruce Wayne though. I think it's because his American accent is slightly haughty in Batman, and Bruce isn't supposed to be this arrogant asshole. But overall, I like his Batman... just minus his accent and gravely voice WHILE he's Batman!
I loved Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel. I hated Katie Holmes in Begins - she talks out of the side of her mouth, and it irritates me. And frankly, I don't think she's that good of an actress. But MG was great. When she went kablooey at the end, that was sad, but I kind of expected it. I didn't think that the Joker would just give out the addresses of where Dent and Rachel were being kept without SOME kind of a twist. I figured that he would switch them. And, because it's me, I thought that he dying was a good thing for the movie - it was the driving factor in Dent turning into Two-Face. And I don't usually like happy endings in movies like these, so I was all for it!
Gordon = love. Period. Gary Oldman is awesome, and he's great in the movie. When everyone thought that he had died, I was like "NONONONONO CRAP****," but then I was like "wait... he CAN'T be dead!" And then when he magically came back to life, I clapped. I was so happy, I was jumping up and down in my seat.
Harvey Dent/Two-Face: I thought that Aaron Eckhart did a great job with both characters, what with his descent into madness. I don't completely think that he's dead - it seems too easy. I doubt that they'd kill him off RIGHT after he really became Two-Face. I WANT him to come back - that would be great. But only if they provide a decently feasible explanation as to how he survived the fall. If they half-assed it, I'll probably start resenting the character.
Alfred... well, you basically said what I wanted to say about him, and Michael Caine. He's a great Alfred - always has been.
Annnnd the Joker: Holy freaking crap. Heath Ledger was simply amazing in that role. Throughout the entire movie, it didn't even cross my mind that he was dead. All I could see was the Joker. Then at the end of the movie, it really hit me that the man I just witnessed acting flawlessly on the screen really was dead, and I got all sad again. It was surreal in a way. But the Joker was just funny, weird, psycho, eccentric, and just plain awesome. The stuff of nightmares, like you said. That whole pencil trick near the beginning of the movie was a hoot. And his confrontation with Batman at the police station was phenomenal. Everything about the character was phenomenal. He took the character to the next level, higher than Jack Nicholson's Joker. Don't get me wrong: I LOVED Nicholson as the Joker, but Heath's was just more... bizarre, and psychotic.
And those're my thoughts. Cripes, I typed a lot. *waits for rebuttal*
