That's wonderful that you were able to find someone like that Free. Not everyone is as lucky, and I'm sure in your life he's been more of a blessing than a curse.
One can express love to more than just their partner though. There's the love we feel for humanity as a whole (if we do, sometimes easier said than done,) the love we have for pets, the love we have for friends, relatives, etc, etc. Hell I even love my 11th grade english teacher, if not for her seeing a spark in me waiting to come out, I would never have picked up a pen and started to write. And it's become one of the purest forms of expression to me of feelings and such.
I'll say it again, everyone that you meet on this planet has the capacity to teach you something about yourself. And it's up to you as to whether you grow or remain stagnant.
