Re: Let us know your alive. I'm still alive.....been in the hospital again Respirtory Failure had to use a machine called a C-pap which is a mask that is placed over both your mouth and nose and it forces air into you lungs...its the only thing that saved me...spent 5 days in the hospital this time...and left with a warning that if they admit me again before we get moved my PCP is going to keep me in there until we're moved...(in fact the other doctors were seriously thinking of keeping me in the hospital this time until allen got us moved into the new place....but once all the test started to show some normalcy the Insurance Company would not have approved the extended stay)

Re: Let us know your alive. I'm alive but not really doing well. you see my boyfriends little girl has not been doing well in school lately with her behavior. for the past two weeks she has had two good days. plus her teacher thinks she may need to see a psychiatrist but i think kids seeing them at 6 is bull. however it is the second teacher to say so. I don't know what to do. its not like we even have the money for that anyways. we are barely making it as it is. I don't know what to do.

Re: Let us know your alive. Avaren, I'm not saying it's right that a child should see a Psychaitrist..but my youngest needed to any order to help her deal a traumatic situation...it help to some degree but I think I would have done a better job of helping her than the stupid shrinks...(she saw 4 different Drs. and each claimed a different treatment was needed which only served to confuse her even more--)...
I'm not saying this could be the case with you're little girl because there are good Dr.s out there that can help......Do you have a Mental Health Clinic/Department in your area...some of these places offer their services pro-bono (free in certain cases)...but don't jump the gun and take the teacher's word as gospel...Have you and your boyfriend discussed the child's behavorial problems with her regular doctor? Have you exhausted all possibilities of it being a medical problem? Behavorial problems are Frequently mis-diagnosed and the child suffers in the end ..
Hope you're able to work this out...I have no idea what type of problems the child has been exhibiting or if you have already mentioned this before....so forgive me, if someone has already given you the same advice.

Let us know your alive. apparently i misunderstood what the teacher said. she said she would probably be a very good psychiatrist. anyways her problem is with new people and getting their attention. She also like to control the situation. if she knows she can control you and get what she wants she will do it and be the hell of your life. Her attention thing goes from being in your face, to causing fights, FAKE crying, being overly pushy, and then screaming. Then if that doesn't work she gives up after a few days.
now we never have this problem at home the most it ever gets to is being in the face which i will then remove her from the room. She also always tries to sit next to the new person so she can be close and have attention and see what she can get away with so she no longer sits near new people and is in between me and her father. I don't see what else we can do to stop this behavior so if you have any suggestions please let me know.
oh and she doesn't do this with her teacher just he music PE and student teacher...ect. you know the ones she is not around all the time. she sometimes does it in the hall but not much.
OH and she is 6 and its not like she doesn't get enough attention from us ether. she does have a background of being separated from her parents because her mother hit her with a phone cord and her father had to get custody (paperwork ****) and was with a foster parent where she did show some violent behavior. (she tired to hurt a younger sibling when she was 3 1/2 (not sure how exactly)). She is not a bad kid you just have to be stricked with her and she behaves fine...besides lieing but i think she will grow out of that since we always catch her and she usually will confess.

Let us know your alive. Oh and her mother was schizophrenic so we are going to get her tested here soon just to be on the safe side since it is hereditary.
