Interest in Welsh midfielder from Northwich Vics ?
How about this quote from the Northwich Vics boss
"Maamria: Byrne can be brilliant

DINO Maamria has urged Michael Byrne to show supporters his true quality next season.
The Vics boss told the Guardian he is impressed with the midfielder’s determination to earn a deal to stay at the club.
“Michael Byrne found some consistency last season,” he said.
“I’ve spoken a lot about his fitness levels and that is something he still needs to work on but we saw at Chorley what he can do.
“If I can keep him in that sort of shape then we will have a very, very good player on our hands.”
Contrary to speculation Byrne, 23, has yet to sign."
Those of us who saw Michael Byrne playing for Wales in the semi-pro internationals thought he could be a very useful creative midfielder. The Vics fans were saying that "he might be off" and, as of yesterday, he hasn't signed.
Greg Strong played with him for a season or so until February this year.

btw - I should point out that I have no reason to believe that the club are pursuing him (dunno if mike has ?), just that he could be available

and on another site Vics boss is quoted as saying that finding a striker is the no. 1 priority
"His search for a striker does not end there though.
“I think we’re looking light on numbers up front so that has got to be my priority,” he said.
“The board has told me to hang fire on signing anybody at the moment so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
Bit short of cash...unload a midfielder and pick up a striker ?

According to Vics fans on their forum he's not going to sign.
If he can play left side and he's as good as some of you are saying and we can afford his wages he's got to be worth a look at given its the 1 area of the pitch we look a little poor.
