Interesting info about the 16x14 floor tom
I was contacted by a gentleman that is selling me some Rogers drum sets, and one of them has a 16x14 floor tom (the deeper 14x14). He said that his father was a Broadway drummer, and had purchased the drums at Henry Adler's shop in NYC. He said that his father had really wanted a 16x16, but didn't have the room in the orchestra pit, and so Henry Adler sold him a "downgraded" 16x14!
I thought it was interesting that what is now considered a very rare and desirable jazz sized 16x14 floor tom was back then just a downsized 16x16, and more of a compromise due to limited space.

Re: Interesting info about the 16x14 floor tom
I just scored a tower kit that had a 16x14 holiday ft. I would like to trade it for a 14x14 tower ft. Mine is a fixer upper. I'm looking for a fixer upper.
