Changes in B&B construction 58- 63
I notice some changes in "how they were made"
I noticed the screws and washers ect in 58 vrs 59 didnt have the zinc plating on them. I also noticed NO reinforcement support ferrels in the holes where the screws go, as seen in 61. The gromet is chrome plated in 58, and brass in 59 and after "or" they chose one of 2 for decorative purposes on eagle badges. You also have the wider reinforcement rings and the 1st use of gray paint from black on the inside, starting somewhere around the time they started using serial numbers. Also wires. Seems as time went on, more wires on the snares were added from 12, 16 and then to 20. This may also been a preference too and according to model, size, ect, but did notice the earlier ones seem to have less. The lug thing is already covered in another thread as you know. Just some tidbits I thought I'd share, in case someone is writing a book or sumfin. lol
I also noticed these changes/differences in a Luxor drum Gary posted onna nother forum.
Maybe this can be moved to the dating section instead of the restoration section.

Rogers-o, I think it sounds like your new drum is pretty well original, but maybe we should proceed with caution.
Wouldn't it be best to post detailed closeup pictures and let the other members weigh in with examples of their experiences before making definitive statements about originality?
None of us can see what you're talking about. Pictures would make all the difference.
Thanks, dude!
