Rogers Bass Drum Pedal help
Hi, I bought a drum kit off ebay a while back and it came with this Rogers bass drum pedal, and someone has just told me it could be vintage. It works fine, ive linked some pictures too so hopefully that works! So im just trying to find out how old it is or if its worth anything, can anyone help?
Thanks,
Greg

Re: Rogers Bass Drum Pedal help
Interesting pedal. It's from 1976 - 79. It is a variation of an earlier design, it uses an over-center clamp applied by flipping over the lever.
You're missing one of the rubber pads in the base, used to protect the bass hoop from damage. And you're missing the spur on the right side; also the felt pad is gone from the beater - this is a reversable, 2-way beater. Just push the head down and turn it.
Not too many of these pedals around: most of them with this style footboard were the earlier design with a separate clamping mechanism for the bass hoop. And most of the later units using the clamp arrangement on yours had the large aluminum Big R Rogers footboard.
I would say your pedal would do between $50-100 on eBay on a normal day.
But it is an excellent pedal, you might want to round up a few missing parts, from the DrumFarm or Drew's Music in Rhode Island, and play it yourself.

Re: Rogers Bass Drum Pedal help
Hey, thanks alot for the info, really appreciate it. I realised I was missing the rubber pad but had no idea about the other parts. Might just do as you suggested and see if I can get hold of them and use the pedal myself.
Thanks again,
Greg
