Re: Great Swivo Idea!
Yep, I did that a long time ago to my double tom mounts. The collar is inside the toms with a leather washer for insulation and I just leave the mounts on the toms. Unfortunately I did it after the collet noses were strecthed out and wouldnt stay tight any more. Works great though.

Re: Great Swivo Idea!
I have been wanting to get some of those memory lock things that jp makes. I could use them all over my kit! I figure that I could use them on the tom mount, the floor tom legs, and you could even put them on bass spurs - inside the drum - so when you pull the legs out they stop where you like it every time.
Here's the pic and description from jp2creations.com:
"New Memory Positioning Device - This is a set of three “memory positioning devices” for 60’s Rogers Hex
Rod Floor Tom Legs. Complete with #391 set screws. All chrome-plated. This was never a Rogers
part, but was created by Dave Jenkins and Jim Petty to function as a “Memriloc” for the Knobby
floor tom legs. That way, you don’t have to count the little notches on the leg. Just set it and forget it!

Re: Great Swivo Idea!
OK, we've seen two different ideas. can anyone give us a web page, email address, snail mail address we can write to, anything. I think this is a great idea that would help us old timer swivo users.

I can't give you an address but the collar idea from Longroll can be found at any fastener or hardware store. I'm guessing that the one from jp is going to be very pricey.

Re: Great Swivo Idea!
I just did a search for set screw collars and found this company below. The collar you want is C-043 7/16 ID. It list dealers, so I found one in my area, called and got 25 sent to me. I think I paid about a $1.05 each.

Re: Great Swivo Idea!
OK, so I'm a little late with this one Clutch - would you explain how you would use these with your floor tom and tom mounts in detail? This may solve some of my hardware problems..........oh boy, oh boy, oh boy......do they also have the set screws?
