From the 1922 catalog that just came my way.

After reading this for the first time I had to scan and post it. It don't belong to me. Enjoy! Peace, Gary

Gary, totally awesome, as usual. But...there must be more. I read all three, but surely there are products for sale...?

From what Ive been reading about old parchment, its a dirty smelly job. A parchment yard is where animal remains went and were then processed for other things. The skins, intestines, bones, hair ect. It was used on books {covers I imagine} and also a very long time ago... to write on {like the dead sea scrolls}. New parchment is considered to be paper.

Funny thing is Danbury is mins from here and wonder what the buisness was called before it became Jos. Jr & son. Pre 1922

Tom, Just heads and history in the 1922. Buy em calf by the dozen! The first catalog that showed drums for Rogers was in 1938.

..and "Substantial Discounts are given on cash orders!" Horrors! Says something about their cash flow and/or accounting!

Love the verbiage on how nothing good in the way of calfskin heads comes out of England.

This is some great stuff, Gary. Where on earth did you find it?

I want some slunk heads on mine. According to that flyer, he had been making them for 12 years prior.
Thanx for the post Gary!

Like most odd Rogers things-I found it on Ebay.

I have seen a few of these fly by me over the years but never had my hands on one to read the info. History on the pages.. Grossman was smart to buy a company name that was associated with "Quality" product well known in the industry.

  Peace, Gary
