2008 view of Cleveland Rogers home
For those of you with The Rogers Book...here are some current shots I took yest. of 50 Academy Street, Farmingdale NJ. The house was recently fixed up and is under contract to be resold. I would of loved to clean out that attic! Snooped around the empy place and went into the yard where Cleves dog ran around many years ago. Enjoy!
Peace, Gary

Re: 2008 view of Cleveland Rogers home
I've driven by there countless times on my way to gigs in Farmingdale - played on Rogers drums of course!
Gave me chills every time I passed by...

Re: 2008 view of Cleveland Rogers home
You are welcome. I was tweaked being there. Oddly enough I brought that old Daisy Brand shell back to the same town from where it came to get repainted. A friend in town has a shop there.
He took me to the site where the old factory was too. More pics tomorrow. Same Rogers time -same Rogers station...
Peace, Gary

Re: 2008 view of Cleveland Rogers home
Glad ya liked those pics! A fun afternoon spent with Jesse Lejeune(the guy that showed Ray) where to take those photos for the Rogers Book. Here is what the shell turned out after Jesse took some polo white Corvette paint to it:
Jesse Lejeune rocks! and I am grateful he made time to help with this restoration. He paints race cars...hence the super gloss black hoops on the purple diamond 20" bass he did many years ago.
I assembled Daisy with the parts that I have now but am on the hunt for the proper clips and pins to make it look like the catalog pic. Peace, Gary

Gary, as the ad says, this is a "real dandy!"
Love those lugs with the "R" on them.
I take it that this is not the same drum as in your avatar with the wooden wartime lugs...?

Re: 2008 view of Cleveland Rogers home
Tom, Nope this is the snare shell a few posts up in this thread with the half yellowed contact paper that I saved last year. Been a side project and glad to see it turn into a drum again. I usually don't go to these extremes of refinishing drums but I see less and less R lug drums as the years pass. It fit the bill being an 8 lug shell with no extra holes. Here is a group pic with the R lug snares that I've had for a while...

Oh my gosh! More snare envy! Outasight, Gary. Just thinking about wooden wartime lugs makes me smile. Bet that at the time, it made the "R" lugs look downright garish and wasteful, considering the war effort.
