Re: Have a seat I've always wondered that as well. In the '67 catalog there's a vent hole right under the logo. Did these have paper tags? If so, maybe they wanted the tag to be readable without turning the throne upside down.
Re: Have a seat The vent hole was for when your older brother used the throne as a laundry basket. You wouldn't want those underwear fumes building up without some kind of pressure release.

Yep, vents with no tags. Couldn't see the tag anyhow with the top on. Probably wanted to tie the look into a drum.
